Last week the Committee promised to update members following the Prime Ministers statement last Sunday about the possible relaxation of the lockdown rules in relation to Covid -19.
Since the PMs statement on Sunday there has also been further guidance and a detailed government document published setting out the proposals for easing the lockdown.
From these it’s clear that all squash activity at our club must remain suspended. (Note that because the activity is indoors this is also amongst members of the same family.)
The current prediction is that squash clubs are unlikely to open before the first week in July.
It’s very possible that any advice we get today may change in the future. The PM made it clear on Sunday that this an evolving situation, so we should expect changes going forward.
We are all keen to get back to playing squash and open the club. We are sure that whilst, to some degree, this was expected, it will also be a disappointment to many, especially coupled with the on-going uncertainty that we are all facing. But we hope that you understand that, on this, we are very much in the hands of others and the advice we get.
