Here is an update from the Committee.
As we have mentioned before we have been continuing with our maintenance work during the time the club has been closed.
The Committee met by zoom this week to discuss the effect of the latest lockdown and agreed that we should try to make use of the time we are closed and extend the maintenance a little further by looking at low cost options which will benefit our members when we re-open.
We agreed in principle to update the mens changing rooms, to seek professional advice on the rising damp affecting the walls; replace the small tables with benches and look at options to provide more privacy such as cubicles or screens.
We also agreed to evaluate further extending the gym by moving forward the glass wall and using the spare space in front of the notice board. This would provide more space for the equipment when it is returned from its temporary location on court four and we may find that we can also house some additional or updated gym equipment going forward. If all this can be achieved on a relatively modest budget and it is thought worthwhile, in the eyes of the Committee, this will be carried out.
We are meeting again on Wednesday 27th January when we hope to commission the work.
If you would like any further information kindly get in touch before the 27th
