Following the weekly committee meeting yesterday and other work that has been going on in the past weeks, we have some further updates regarding our reopening. The situation will be kept under review by the Committee and may change.
Limited Changing Rooms & Shower facilities
The changing rooms and showers will be back open and functioning from this Saturday (10th October). For a time, the shower facilities will be limited so that we can open them and still comply with government rules We ask that members using the showers change and shower in 10 minutes so that other members coming off court can then use them. A dividing screen has been installed and we would like to ask that only two people use the Gents changing rooms and showers at any one time to permit for social distancing.
The timings of the court lights will further be changing in the coming week to ensure there is a 20-minute gap between court times so that there is less crossover of people in the Club and to allow slightly more time to shower.
The Gym will be reopening from Saturday 17th October, further information to follow next week.
The Club’s bar will be reopening from Saturday 17th October and its opening hours will be initially as follow:
We will see how this works out so times may change going forward. If they do, we will tell you.
The bar will be cashless with credit/ debit card only payments. To encourage social distancing, the bar will be table service only, orders will also be taken at the table. Two tables are in the bar and two tables are in the Court 1 & 2 viewing area.
Please, when playing during its opening hours, consider supporting this function of the Club.
Reactivation of Door Entry Fobs
Please ensure you have downloaded, completed and returned the “Welcome Back Registration” form which can be downloaded by clicking the link on the Club website. Your fob will not be reactivated if you haven’t and you will not be able to enter the Club.
Use of the Club – Mask/ Face Coverings
Current Government Law is that in hospitality and leisure settings, masks & face coverings should be worn at all times other than carrying out the activity.
Therefore, members should wear a mask or a face covering at all times in the Club, except than when on Court, in the gym, in the changing rooms/ showers or when sat at a table in the bar. Please comply with these rules as businesses could receive fines of up to £10,000 for breaches of the law and we could also risk being closed down.
Finally, on a positive note. We have over the past couple of weeks experienced an increase in court usage and we are now back to 60% of a normal week.
As ever feedback and comments are welcome.
