I am sure that you heard the statement from the prime Minister over the weekend that the UK will begin a lockdown on Thursday to protect the NHS and prevent exponential growth in deaths.
Whilst this wasn’t unexpected it is, nevertheless, tough on all of us.
It also means the we will have to close the club for the time of the lockdown. The club will therefore close at midnight on Wednesday.
We are of course far better prepared this time. The courts, gym and bar have been opened, as were the showers. Not quite what we had before but from the feedback we’ve received, members understand this. There seems light at the end of the tunnel!
The good news is that over the last few months we’ve experienced a steady rise in our members returning to the club, playing squash and using the gym. So hopefully when we come out of the lockdown in a month or so’s time we will simply be able to pick up where we left off.
Direct debits for November have already been collected. Going forward they will next be collected in January. (i.e. they will not be collected in December)
As before annual membership will be extended by one month. (or longer if the lock down extended for a 2nd month).
Finally, the Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their loyalty and support of the club during this unprecedented time.
